CloZure Talks of Touring, Music, and More Planned Out!

CLOZURE is a modern day 90's band, releasing a few single's and an album, with an all new single expected soon. The band even plans on heading out on the road, touring about, with a whole lot else in the works! The band talks about music, touring, and more below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Originally the band was formed in 2012 by Mike C.after several member changes and struggle to find the right fit for our sound we have finally arrived at our current lineup which we all feel is what we were meant to be. The lineup and date added is Michael Cordle (lead/rhythm guitars) 2012, joshua hodge (lead vocals) 2022, Matthew Russell (rhythm/lead guitars) 2019, Michael McCann (drums) 2020, christopher McCord (bass) 2016. I can’t express how every new member has added their specific feel and dynamic that has made us develop as artists and friends.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Mike C. Had recently went through a really bad time in life and the band was really a way to let go of the scars and pain of what had happened. It just fit.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are from Enterprise, Alabama. The local music scene is not very conducive to being a rock band. Unless you are a country band or play covers alone with an acoustic guitar, there are very few places to play. Best thing we ever did was got out of the local area to play. I advise all bands trying to find there place to try that before giving up. There are people out there who will like your music, just gotta get out and find them.

There are a lot of great local original bands fairly close to us that people should take the time to check out. Tragic, Love the Hate, Ember Fading, and Sevenply to mention a few. Look em up, you wont be let down.

4. How would you describe your style?

Wow, we have so many influences. We have recently been told we sound like mid 90’s music with modern vocals. Every member really does bring influences and contribute to the music. We have recently been compared to everything from Creed to 3 Doors down with modern guitars. We definitely have a heavy melodic rock sound with a blues twist. It seems like every new song we solidify more I to what fits us.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Our most recent release is the Single “Foolish Man” fresh out 20 April 2023. Prior to that was our self titled album released in 2022 including two singles that did very well “Vow” and “The Mask” Before that we had only released a couple singles but later ended up re-releasing after re-recording on our album. There is a lot of diversity in our music. You can expect everything from a party vibe (Bourbon Street Angels) to a look below the surface to bigger issues (Vow, The Mask, Foolish Man). We want listeners to ultimately find something personal that speaks to them and where they are in life with our music.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We have a single currently being mixed that should be out about the time we head out on tour and expect to have another two or three that we are working with the studio now to hopefully get out this Fall.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We are set to go out for our “Heart In My Hands ACT I” Tour beginning 27 May – 17 June every where from Mississippi to Michigan. We will be playing with so many amazing artists Scotty Austin, Rehab, Framing the Red, and many more. Our second run this year will start 11 Aug. “Heart in My Hands ACTII” Tour which is shaping up to be even bigger than the first. Much thanks to Nolan at MK Music for that. He has really been a Godsend.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

As the saying goes “were gonna ride this wagon til the wheels fall off” lol. We have very big plans and think through hard work, good planning, and the right attitude, we can accomplish anything together. We think great things are coming.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can find our music anywhere you stream or buy your music. Also all links can be found at our website officialclozure.com. And of course, the best option is to come see us live on tour and you can get all that and we get to meet new friends.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We want someone to tap into a memory and feel something. Everyone has different experiences and music can bring those things to life. The strongest memories are the ones that make you feel.
