Metalcore pop punks ARTIFER have an EP, handful of single's and all new material in the works as well. They even have a festival show in the works, and just want to grow as a band and release music, besides playing shows of course! The band talks about all of this right below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Artifer started as a one-man project in the year 2019. The transformation into a full band took longer than at first expected due to COVID, but by May of 2022, Artifer as it is now, was born.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The name comes from the Latin word “artifex”, meaning artist or craftsman. It’s very much on the nose as a small joke.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We’re based out of Tallinn, Estonia. The local metal and more specifically core scene is not as big as in some other countries but we believe it’s growing and going strong! Some bands to check out would be Pridian, Horror Dance Squad, Bloodfeather, Noodle Charity and Pizzafacial (the latter two if you’re more easycore/pop-punk leaning).
4. How would you describe your style?
A mix of melodies from punk rock and pop with riffs and grooves from metalcore. We also like to add elements from other genres such as classical or synthwave.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We’ve released a 6 track EP and 5 singles so far. Someone who’s never heard us should expect catchy melodies with fast paced and energetic instrumentals.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes, we have quite a few things in the works at this time.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
At the current moment we will be playing the opening night of a festival called Barbar Feast in early July and we have some other gigs to be announced.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Ideally we would like to over time grow together even more as friends and musicians to give our fans our best! Once ready, we hope to hit stages outside of Estonia as well and maybe even with some acts from abroad.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Our music is available on just about any platform You can think of: Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, Youtube, etc. As for stuff to buy - we currently have one shirt design we’re selling but more stuff is on the way!
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
The feeling of being heard and thought of through our lyrics. That and of course the choruses so we could all sing them together at our shows.
