Metalcore act IN YOUR GRAVE have been actively doing music for sometime, releasing three EP's, their latest third being "Tusk" released just a month ago! The band wants to next release a full-length album, and do have plans for shows and touring soon! The band talks of these releases, show planning and whereabouts these guys come from and what you can expect from them!
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Established in 2020, our band traces its roots to the visionary collaboration of Collin Anderson, our dynamic vocalist, and Jose Bardales, our powerhouse drummer. Throughout the years, we underwent some changes in our lineup, ultimately reaching the present day where we proudly present our consolidated and robust roster. Welcoming aboard the exceptionally talented Jake Collier on guitar and Conner Anderson on bass, we believe our current lineup marks the perfect blend of passion and skill.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The band name reflects how Collin felt about some close relationships. His friends and loved ones were using drugs and making decisions for their lives that weren't great. Basically, he felt like he was just watching them waste away in their own graves.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the music scene is buzzing with amazing bands. There's a bunch that really caught my attention, like Zodiac Killer, Service Weapon, Snuff Tape, Amorous, Moonteeth, Low Life, Charlatan, and plenty of others. We’re pretty lucky to be in such a talented state.
4. How would you describe your style?
We're an intense metalcore band with a knack for pushing boundaries. We incorporate a lot of Hardcore, Deathcore, and electronic elements. Which sets us apart from the usual "sound" you might expect.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We currently have three EPs out: "Enemy Lines," our debut, followed by "Graveyard Songs," our second release. Our latest, "Tusk," was just dropped on November 29th 2023.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
We just put out our new EP Tusk on the 29th of November. We are now preparing to hit the studio very soon for our first full length album.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We've just revealed that we'll be part of Total Death Fest organized by Total Deathcore in Spartansburg, South Carolina. Stay tuned because we've got a couple of tours in the works, but that's hush-hush for now!
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We want to get our first full length album completed. We hope to take everything that we’ve learned up to this point and make this the best release yet.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can catch our tunes on various streaming platforms like Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and more. And if you're looking to snag some exclusive merch, head over to www.inyourgrave.com/store because we've just dropped some limited edition items in celebration of the release of Tusk, so grab them before they're gone!
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
We simply hope our audience can connect with the emotions in our music. Each song holds its own significance, whether you're facing tough times, coping with a loss, or dealing with bullying. We've got something for everyone. We don't judge, and our wish is to provide you with a musical outlet for your emotions!
