From Concepción, Chile, Veneno arrives with the first single from their new album. 'Pócima' is the song that opens the process of this new album that closes a two-part work, consolidating the new formation of these heroes of Chilean hard rock.
“Pócima I” was released in 2023, celebrating a decade as a band and the entry of the new vocalist, Luis Astudillo. This volume took 14 songs from their three previous albums to record them with the voice of their current singer. Its sequel, “Pócima II”, consists of 8 completely unreleased songs with which this incarnation of Veneno will definitively establish itself and begin its journey towards important challenges in Chilean rock.
The single 'Pócima', like the album "Pócima II", was recorded at the Vettan Producciones recording studio by Claudio Rivera, producer and founding guitarist of the group. In his words, “it is an energetic song that opens the album, showing new ingredients in terms of musical arrangements, whether in guitar effects and vocal harmonies. Its lyrics invite you to try a new musical concoction to inject energy into whoever receives it.” Their video clip, their first in animated format, was made by audiovisual artist Rodolfo Sanhueza.
Veneno is made up of its founders, the Rivera brothers, Claudio and Víctor, and the vocalist Luis Astudillo. The session musician Manuel Valenzuela was the drummer who recorded the album “Pócima II” and who will face future live performances. Finally, as a special guest for their live shows they will have another member of their dynasty, Richard Rivera, who will be in charge of the rhythm guitars.
