Upon announcing the “Kiss of Death Tour” back in 2023, featuring In This Moment, Ice Nine Kills and Avatar, only the opener would change from New Years Day for 2023’s take of the tour, to TX2 for he 2024 rendition of the “Kiss Of Death Tour Part 2” edition for 2024. This line up bringing the tour to other parts it had not gone through during the first run of it.
Tonight’s run of the tour took place in Los Angeles, California in the city of stars known as Hollywood, at the Hollywood Palladium venue, with a sold out show! Opening would be TX2 with his take of hip hop mixed with punk rock, that his performance was plain. He had the energy ever flowing, getting everyone hyped up for the rest of the acts that night, and people were taking what was provided. Except he wasn’t as interesting as many had hoped. Having some back lash of his music, using certain melodies to other tracks of other acts, giving him some negativity, this may have caused his performance to go not as well as hoped. He was fine but could have been better.
Next up would be Sweden’s Avatar, not the movie, nor based off it. But a circus band, whose heavy metal styling was taken beautifully by the crowd of on lookers. The frontman being goofy yet brutal with his vocalization, with his band mates being intense with their musical abilities, that their set was captivating throughout. The material was well welcomed, being catchy and upbeat yet heavy, they kept the momentum of the crowd interested, and made their presents known and that they would return well after wrapping up their set.
AVATAR:
Following them would be the band that everyone was likely there to see the most which was Ice Nine Kills, a horror based group, getting popular by their successful albums “The Silver Scream” Parts 1 and 2 with possibly a 3 on the way, no telling really…. But no their set was lengthy with a lot of songs played and known by the audience like “Ex-Mortis”, “American Nightmare”, “It Is the End”, and “Welcome to Horrorwood, to name off a few. Their set being infused with various character actors throughout, with a lot of creativity thrown in the mix. Seeing these guys for a third time tonight, this set was done well, with lots of lighting affects, catchy melodies, and just a lot of fun really. Them surely being one to check out at least once.
ICE NINE KILLS:
Ending the evening would be In This Moment, whose performance was run with roughly an hour long set, with a 40 minute set change in-between bands, made their performance short. Whilst they did play a solid set, it fell short, like the material wasn’t as much as other acts on this bill. The band sounded heavy, vocalist Maria Brink, doing her duties as a vocalist well. Just a lot of the material sounded the same, not playing any of the earlier working’s at all. The crowd was present to witness the performance, but a majority did leave after the previous bands set had ended. Making In This Moment’s set being thorough yet not well received as well as they had wanted it to go.
IN THIS MOMENT:
Overall the “Kiss Of Death Tour Part 2” rendition would go well, that it would go off without a hitch. Each of the acts on this trek, did their duty to get the audience’s attention with little to no issues keeping all there invested in the performances at hand no problem.
