Thrash metal band THE CRUCIFIER have been doing their thing since 95 up until 2008! But now the band has returned, releasing their third full-length to date "Voices in My Head" back in 2017. Frontman vocalist Hlias "Thanatoid" Kyriazis discusses his band, their music and the future!
1. How did the idea for the band name come from exactly, did you plan it out or did it just happen? Does it have a meaning to it?
Well well back in 1995 me with my cousin a lot of metal beers and energy we wanted to make a band with evil name ...so we decided to make The Crucifier.
2. The band has been together for nearly 30 years, have you decided upon how to celebrate that accomplishment?
No because we really wanted to fix songs for our upcoming fourth album and stabilize the line up of the band.
3. Over that span of your career as musicians, you have had three full-lengths, demo's, and some splits, including a recent release being "Outbreak Of Unholy Death" with Hellbutcher and Flegias, tell me about this spit release between you three?
We really love underground metal and underground bands; I am vinyl collector and tape demo taker. Also I love to spread my music to cool bands. and i discover new bands with true metal feelings from the underground scene. Also I really like the other bands and we did it.
4. When can we expect to hear another fourth full-length album from you guys?
I really want to make a new thrash upcoming album very raw and fast to combine bay area thrash with hard core influences catchy riffs and Canadian metal I hope soon.
5. What genre do you play and why did you want to play this genre in the first place?
Vocals I am trying to sing. all that time; I love to scream if I had time I really want to learn drums and the reason why in Greece drummers in metal scene are rare items.
6. Did the band members know one another before the band was even formed?
No ...only the first period the first line up we knew each other and we were friends. We are a socio political band, our lyrics are about world peace crime against humanity ...and anti human anti govermnet, and anti fascist.
7. Where is the band based out of and what is the local music scene like there?
Here in Greece we have a strong metal scene. alot of good bands and an excellent underground scene. But promoters prefer the commercial metal.
8. Has the band ever played in the U.S., or ever plan to do so?
We really want to play in the U.S. And no we never been there but I hope in the future we will be.
9. What is up next for The Crucifier for the rest of 2024 into this next year?
Hope to stabilize the line up, we have a lot of problems with the line up ....here in Greece it is more difficult to find members to suit to each other....But I hope to make new songs because we have a lot of good ideas.

We spit on those who choose to pose, because we thrash with all the rest, for all the best there.
