Son Of Monsterpalooza Brings the Spooky to California with Ghouls and Guests Galore!

Horror convention “Monsterpalooza” has given birth to a “mini” version of itself titled “Son of Monsterpalooza” which is now in it’s twelfth year running for 2024’s edition; happening the weekend of October 11th through the 13th in Burbank, California at The Marriott Burbank Convention Center & Hotel. This was the same spot Monsterpalooza happened before it moved to Pasadena’s convention center.

But Sunday October 13th is when I got to attend this take of a horror convention, showing up towards the late afternoon, knocking out the convention within an hour. Upon entry the crowd was decked out in their costume attire, various creatures, ghouls, and monster creatures from famous horror movies, TV shows, and the like. A lot of actors made appearances from musicians, actors from film and others. With vendors set up selling items, to panel discussions happening as well.

Browsing the convention center, having the chance to meet some of the cast of horror TV series Ash Vs. Evil Dead, horror rock musician Wednesday 13, and hearing about the lines spreading around the building for Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell and rock star musician Ozzy Osborne and his family! Many other guests came forth to meet and greet with fans, sign autographs, snap photos, and chat with you about why you enjoyed them in said work. Meeting some actors was lots of fun, one of the Ash VS. Evil Dead actors enjoyed the matching attire my partner and I sported upon attendance.

After doing some meet and greet’s, browsing the halls with the various vendors was fun, numerous merchandise, ranging from VHS movies, DVDs, posters, props, masks, pumpkins, stickers, figures, toys, plus much else, lots of people buying various items that caught their fancy. Panel discussions were held throughout the weekend, having guests discuss their time and place for said project, getting fans lined up awaiting to see and hear what they had to say.

All in all though, this miniature take of the infamous Monsterpalooza was a fun edition with this take of the Son Of Monsterpalooza, lots of scares, ghouls, and fun times that made this outing a scary good one.
