Party rockers BAZOOKA TROOPAZ has released their debut album, new single, with them already creating and writing towards their next release! The band discusses their time together, music, and further plans ahead of them.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
We are a pretty new band that formed in the underground of Trondheim, Norway in 2023. Last year we realeased our debut album 'Bombs, Babes and Bazookas' which got great praise in local and international heavy metal media. We are now gearing up for our second full length album entitled 'Scandinavian Head Splitter'. The band consists of:
Sergeant Summers - Vocals
Lieutenant Don Shrediablo - Guitars
Colonel Frankie Key-Key - Drums
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The Bazooka Troopaz was a special unit in the Norwegian army until we got kicked out which we describe in great detail in the opening track of the last album called 'Booze Alley Brutal'.
It's a great name, not too serious, but it sounds sexy and catchy which is the most important thing.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Bazooka Troopaz hails from Trondheim, Norway which is the 3rd largest city and by far the sexiest city in Norway. The music scene up here is pretty rockin' and there is a lot of great music to go around!
To name a few we have some kickass bands like Hypermass, Ghetto Ghouls, Malabari, Undertakers and so on. We have a ton of great bands up here, it's really worth checking out our local scene of great music.
4. How would you describe your style?
Our style is high energy, fist-pumping, party rock on steroids. You might say Thrash Metal, Crossover Thrash, Punk Rock or whatever, call it what you want, we really don't care.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We released our first album 'Bombs, Babes and Bazookas' last year and a new single this year called 'The Booze Hounds of Hades'. Our upcoming album 'Scandinavian Head Splitter' will be a continuation of our style, but even more refined and playful. The songs on the last album came together ridiculously quick. This time we had a bit more time to work on the songs, even though this one came together quick as well. The listener can expect a fun listening experience, we don't take ourselves too seriously so there is stuff we make that the casuals will like and the metal-elitists might like (not sure about that last one though).
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes! Always writing and creating, so there is songs written planned for a future release already. We haven't gotten together and jammed on the songs yet though, our focus is on the upcoming album right now.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Take things as they come. We are playing our first show ever now on 15 November in Trondheim, Norway. When we have our new album ready there will probably be some more sexy dates.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Our main goal is to have fun, not take things to serious and let things fall where they may. New album and a music video is what we have our eyes set on right now.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can check out our bandcamp if you want to support us! We have some merch printed up for the next album, so we will put that on sale soon on our bandcamp. You can also purchase downloads of our songs there. As far as physical releases goes we have to consider that for the new album as well, printing up some vinyls would be cool, but it's outrageously expensive unfortunately.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
We are all about having a good time, so fortunately the listener will sense this and slam a couple of beers which goes tremendously well along with our music. Putting our music on the speaker will get the most conservative put on their party-hat and party down with the Zookaboys!
