Christian deathcore band DIAMONDS TO DUST's guitarist/vocalist Barry, does the talking about how this band came together, the releases they have thus far unleashed, and what further plans are ahead.
1. So how did the band's name Diamonds To Dust happen, does it have a meaning to it?
Answer: No it doesn't have any particular meaning. When I started the band we were initially called No Regrets, but we soon realized that there were many other bands with that exact name. I wanted something that wasn't taken. After thinking of a bunch of names and searching to make sure that name was not used by anyone else I decided on Diamonds to Dust.
2. Your band's social media says you are a "Christian Deathcore" band, so what makes you Christians?
Answer: It is our faith in Jesus Christ that make us Christian. All of us except one member of the band believes in Christ and even that one member who doesn't believe is open to it.
3. Does this mean that all of your songs involve topics about the one above and below?
Answer: Our music is very Christ centered but that is not the only thing that we write about. We write about our experiences or the experiences that are shared to us by family and friends (with permission of course).
4. Would you say that God and all that surround he, is a major influence upon you?
Answer: Of course! Without him there would definitely be no us and I believe that wholeheartedly!
5. You have an EP out along with a video single of the title track "Temporary Affliction", discuss this EP, music video, song overall for us.
Answer: So the ep is just a collection of singles. We are just releasing song after song and stringing them together because it helps our algorithm as well as allows fans to listen to certain songs that might have been overlooked. The song Temporary Affliction is about the temporary suffering that we will endure on this earth while serving Christ and at the end of it all we will be in eternity with him.
6. The band is based out of the east coast, what sort of activity keeps everyone busy out there?
Answer: Mostly work and family. Most of us are married with kids and work a lot to provide a stable living.
7. Do you have any local artists or bands you could recommend from your surroundings?
Answer: Of course! They are not exactly from our area but we would advise everyone to check out PRDGMS, Collapse//Revive, Voluntary Mortification, UnWorthy.
8. What sort of plans are in the works as far as shows and or tours if any?
Answer: At the moment, we do have plans to tour in 2025, but we don't have anything set in stone. We will also be releasing a lot of new music throughout the year.
9. Whereabouts can people find you guys online as far as music, social media etc.
Answer: Pretty much anywhere! We are on all platforms!
10. Would you like to say or add anything else?
Answer: I would just asked that everyone keeps us in prayer as we continue to do the Lord's work!
