Deathcore act POSTHUMANX have some single's out there with a debut album out this year! A whole lot of new stuff has yet to be released some making it and some may not but it is still sick! Some shows are set for the summer already, with touring to happen sooner or later, with the band wanting to play and release music. Find out what else the band had to say with us below.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
I thought the name Post Human was cool but it was taken already so Ivan came up with the name PostHumanX short for Post Human Existence
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I love the energy and intensity in Deathcore. Also this genre is an open canvas. There are always new creative ideas and bands that push the boundaries.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Ian (guitarist) and I have been friends and played together since we were kids. I met Ivan (vocalist) when I filmed his band Wroht playing live at the Gilman in Berkeley about 2 years ago. His vocal abilities are insane! I met Kingston (Drummer) on Instagram. I saw a clip of his band Bog Body covering a Despised Icon song and was blown away!
4. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We are based out of the Bay Area CA. San Leandro through Novato. Local bands we recommend: Red Fall, Infinite Sleep, Wrath Of Logarious, Deadringer, The American Dream, 4199, Titan Rage, Lost To The Void, Reminitions, The Tower The Fool, Lurid, Warscythe, Thrownout, The Suffering, Human Contortion, Baby On A Rampage, Edgerunner.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We all have a variety of music tastes. I’d say my Dad inspires me to write songs. When he died I was depressed for weeks. Music and songwriting became my therapy.
6. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)
Our songs are about a variety of things. Topics like humans being merged with machines, consciousness transfer and aliens.
7. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)
Yes I write songs and record them at my apartment. I work with an engineer in Italy named Simone Pietroforte. He also mixes for bands like Reflections, Distant, Signs Of The Swarm, As Time Went By
8. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
We currently have 4 singles out now. You can expect our debut album sometime this year.
9. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes! A lot of new sick unreleased material! Also a good amount of songs that won't make the cut lol.
10. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We have a couple shows in June in the SoCal area. Also we are planning an Album release show later this year.
11. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
We would like to tour at some point. The goals this year are bigger shows, drop an album, and collaborating with the homie bands.
12. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
