Brenden Starr's Discussion on Music and the Plans Ahead!

Up and coming artist BRENDEN STARR has a recent single out titled "Get Out", with a whole lot of other plans in the works, from merch, website, a lot of his work's can be found on streaming platforms, along with TikTok! He goes into discussion with us about his music and what his plans are for the future.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  \

That’s a good question. Hopefully, I can give you a short answer, my real name is Branden Weaver background 2009. I went to New York City for an MTV sponsored talent show and I met a person there that used to work for an industry Label as an AR and we stayed in touch over the years and I’m still friends with this person, he has suggested to do something with my name. It just wasn’t popular or fitting the look so he suggested wanted to drop your last name and go with Star, I thought to myself I like this, but it’s kind of too simple cliché. What can I do to make it more creative for my name and my brand of who I’m trying to be with my music.  I decided to drop the a in my first name and go with the E and out of the second R to my last name and then I made it an abbreviation so Starr actually stands for some things are real right isn’t a question that best speaks for me myself through my music as true to myself and What I write about through my songs I’m as real as it can get. I’m never gonna sugarcoat anything.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I’ve always been naturally a pop singer just what I grown into and and was highly influenced by early 90s pop and dance music and alternative rock.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I have been a solo artist for the past 15 years so it’s basically me and a backing band and thankful enough that I have a group of guys that love playing with me and and enjoy my music. We’re just a good group of friends.

4. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

I’m based out of a little town called Hanover Pennsylvania, which is in York County that is best known for the origins of the band. Live the big alternative band from the 90s and another local band called hailstorm, I really don’t have any recommendations seen in my area is a little bit more heavy metal, new metal bands, and a lot of cover bands as well.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

When I’m in the studio, I’m like a man scientist going through all my lyrics stories and peace and together in the puzzle and finding the best catchy hooks for a song so the studio really inspires me.

6. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

I attend to write about a lot of love, songs, break ups stories of my childhood and real life situation with inner struggles and experience with the addictions and abuse.

7. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Yes I do write my own songs a lot of times in the studio and clapping, but they producer on the structure and format, but there’s a song that makes sense that is lyrically written by another artist I may suggest or take a look at it and make it my own if the lyrics makes sense to a story in my life.

8. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Two years ago I came out with my full length called hopeless romantic, and this past August I released an EP follow up to that called Reimagined, with a few new songs and remix and new recordings of songs from the full length most recently I just released my newest single the freshmen which is a remake of a huge song from the 90s by a band called the verve pipe.

9. Do you have any new music in the works?

At the moment no but I do have one or two new ideas for some new recordings down the road. I mainly focusing on the next couple singles off this EP this year has been my main focus.

10. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Yeah, I have a bunch of shows coming up this year. I leave this month and support of my mini headline tour called the freshmen that’s in support of the single release. I’m headed down to East Coast. I also started my own music festival called rock on the hill in my hometown of Hanover, Pennsylvania, this year‘s headliner is the red jumpsuit apparatus. I’m super excited to share a stage with them and among other artists.

11. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Going back into the studio sometime down the road, and maybe jump it on some bigger tours.

12. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You could find me on all social platforms and media outlets. I’m working on getting my merch store set up on my website obviously coming out to show and grabbing a CD or T-shirt. That’s where you can comp some of my merch again.
