Once known as a duo act but flying as a solo artist, MOIRA STAFRACE has come some way, releasing several songs already as an artist. With an all new track in the works, with some shows set for this year too! See what else is talked about with us below!
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Spent 30 years writing, recording and producing music in a duo band called Chris and Moira. We performed on many platforms both locally in Malta and away, and worked on various music projects. Now established as a solo artist, I’m collaborating with various musicians and other songwriters.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
Moira Stafrace is my birth name originating from Malta
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there?
Based in Malta, our music scene is quite good but being a small island, it often gets very suffocating for us artists and not so easy to get recognized abroad.
4. How would you describe your style?
I’ve always been inclined to writing pop rock genre, recently I’ve worked on different styles and projects however my style is very alternative rock pop with that modern retro sound
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
I’ve released five new songs accompanied by videos, these works are found on most of the popular online platforms for all the world to see. I expect people to enjoy my music, include in their personal playlists...that's the whole idea.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes I am currently finishing a new track, the genre is rock pop, after that we will be working on producing a video for it. I also have a collaboration with a local boy band, doing a re-release of our past Chris and Moira Eurovision song ‘More than Love’. After that I will return in studio to start working on recording and producing another three new original songs.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
I have two performances locally in October and November, I will have something during the summer holidays, but abroad I do not have anything booked.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
The idea is to keep on writing, recording, producing and performing.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
My music is found on Spotify, SoundCloud and YouTube. As per merchandise, there is nothing going on.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
