Metalcore band BEHIND OUR REFLECTIONS formed back in 2014 and since then, have released a debut album "Discodance" with an all new single following titled "While I Sleep". Another new single is in the works, with local show performances happening as well. Guitarist/vocalist Fredo Moutoumodely does the talking here and discusses all of this and more!
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Fredo: Behind our Reflections was created in 2014 with 6 band members. During the evolution of the band, we have had a lot of changes with the members. I was the only one who stayed until present. Now we’re a total of 4: Fabrice : Bass, Remy : Drum, Brice : Lead vocal and me as the guitarist and second vocal.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
Fredo: It all started when I was in Paris with my friend Aimane from Chaos band, working on some tracks. Since I wanted to share what we have worked upon, I thought why not make a band. After a week of churning upon what could represent us well, I finally chose the name: "Behind Our Reflections".
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Fredo: We are from Reunion Island, which is in the Indian Ocean near Mauritius and Madagascar. Our local metal/rock scene is very active regardless we are in such a small island! You would be mind-blown with the motivated and energetic audience coming to see us and the other local bands! We often play with FEED THE IRE! So I would definitely recommend them as well as bands like Burning Dolls, Vacuum Road and Warfield.
4. How would you describe your style?
Fredo: Metalcore!
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
Fredo: Our first album, “Discodance”, with the old band members, came out in 2017 and now we just released a new single “While I Sleep” – which is available everywhere! Go listen to it. ;)
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Fredo: Definitely! We are working on our second single, we are taking our time but it’s going to be dope!
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
Fredo: We are for the moment playing locally but we’ve been planning to go on tour onto close-by islands like Mauritius and who knows, if all goes well, to France maybe! Let’s cross all the bonds in our body for that to happen! Amen!
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Fredo: Since we’re a close-knitted and motivated band, we will be coming up with new albums and go on tour in other countries, meeting new artists, discover new countries with their awesome metalheads. That would be a dream come true.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
Fredo: Feel the music! We have worked a lot in producing immersive songs, with the samples, the melodies, and we hope listeners would feel all this feelings like we!
